Out of the Ram engines, which will you choose? The 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine comes standard, and generates 269 horsepower backed with 305 lb-ft of torque. Two 5.7L HEMI® V8 engines generate 410 horsepower with 395 lb-ft of torque for more power. One features the seamless power stream with eTorque.
Towing Capacities and Trailer Tech
If your taste falls to the standard 3.6L V6 engine, you’ll get a 7,730-pound towing capacity at the max when properly equipped. For the most that the Ram 1500 can tow, a maximum towing capacity of 12,750 pounds is available with the 5.7L HEMI® V8 engine with eTorque when properly equipped.
Plenty of trailer-specific systems maximize your ability to tow with ease. Both Trailer Sway Control and Rear Cross Path and Trailer Detection come standard, but a spate of other systems are available.
Your chosen Ram may feature the Trailer 360° Surround View Camera, which reassures you that your trailer is still intact. If you wish to go in reverse, the available Trailer Reverse Steering Control system enables you to direct it with a twist of a dashboard knob.
Also, upgraded Trailer Tire Pressure Monitoring keeps track of 12 different tires for more than one trailer. The available 12-inch touchscreen for the Uconnect® 5C system displays this—and the optional Trailer Light Check.
Truck Bed and Cabin Options
Choices for cabins include the Crew or Quad Cab. The former hosts up to three riders, while the latter adds a row to accommodate more people.
For your truck bed, you may select the short box reaching 5 feet 7 inches, or the long box that stretches to 6 feet 4 inches.
To access the truck bed, the available multifunction tailgate allows you to open it in the traditional way. It also enables you to split the gate with swing-away doors that give you alternate access.
Add to your storage capacity with the class-exclusive RamBox® Cargo Management System. This adds bins to the sides of your Ram for more space and a place to store wet items.
