2022 Jeep Renegade Performance
The 2022 Renegade will come equipped with a 1.3-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, a difference from the previous year’s model where this engine was only available as an upgrade. Now that it’s standard, you’ll feel the energy of up to 177 horsepower as you set off each day. This turbocharged engine will come paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission, and you’ll have a choice between the standard 2-wheel drivetrain or the available 4-wheel drive one. EPA-estimated fuel economy numbers include the following:
- 2-Wheel Drive: EPA-estimated 24 city/32 highway MPG
- 4-Wheel Drive: EPA-estimated 23 city/29 highway MPG
2022 Jeep Renegade Capability
If you opt for the 2-wheel drivetrain, you’ll have the added bonus of the Selec-Terrain® Traction Management System to choose modes like Mud/Sand when you’re off-roading, or Snow when you encounter slippery conditions during a storm. The highest Jeep Renegade trim—the Trailhawk—is the one to choose for the most advanced off-roading fun. Its ground clearance of 8.7 inches, and a water fording depth of 19 inches, will likely be the same as the previous year’s model. These metrics will open the door to a diverse map of places to visit. If you plan to tow some light gear with your Renegade, it has a towing capacity of 2,000 pounds when properly equipped.
