Behind its iconic grille, the Jeep Cherokee offers three reliable engines. The base engine is a 2.4L Tigershark® 4-cylinder powertrain that gets up to 180 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque.

If you’d like a more athletic drive, you can go with a 3.2L Pentastar® V6 that delivers 271 horsepower and 239 lb-ft of torque. If you prefer lots of torque, you’ll be able to count on the turbocharged 2.0L 4-cylinder. It gets up to 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of toque.

All three engines work with a versatile 9-speed automatic transmission. They can also help you haul some extra cargo. The Jeep Cherokee offers a best-in-class towing capacity of 4,500 pounds. That’s enough power to tow a trailer, take a few ATVs to a trail, or bring a boat to a lake.
